A spout (2) for a petrol container (1) is provided at one end (3) with a double socket (4) permitting the spout (2) to be connected with the container (1) either in a pouring position in which it projects from the container or in a storage position in which it is reversed and located inside the container, the spout (2) having a non-return valve (8) in which a closure member (9) is buoyant to close the spout (2) when in its storage position, but when in the pouring position, allows petrol to flow through the spout (2).
