Metallic mast of triangular section for antenna - composed of angle-iron uprights interconnected by zigzag tie bars defining angles of 30 or 60 degrees

The antenna and its masts comprises three uprights (e.g. 4,6) 45m high, secured to the ground by guy wires. The mast is built up from sections 3m long and 50m wide with zigzag wind-resistant tie bars (1,2,3) formed from 14mm dia. rods bent to 60 deg. angles. The uprights are of pref.90 deg. angle iron with their faces inclined at either 30 or 60 deg. to the planes of the sides of the triangular section. The mast has a better intertia/mass ratio than one of square section, and can be assembled rapidly on site in sections of given length from available components.
