PURPOSE:To display ambient temperature and time simultaneously by realizing a high-precision timepiece and a simple thermometer by using a quartz bar, which has two oscillation modes, as a temperature sensor and a standard time souce. CONSTITUTION:A turning-fork type quartz bar has two modes of inflectional and torsional oscillations; its frequendy fF is used for a frequency and a time stadard, and an fT or DELTAf=ff-fT is used as a temperature detection parameter. Then, an oscillating circuit 301 using this quartz bar, a frequency divider 302, a clocking counter 303, a decoder diver 304, and a liquid-crystal display device 305 are provided to obtain timepiece functions. Further, a quartz thermometer consists of a sampling circuit 308, a timer 306, a presettable up-down counter 310, a storage circuit 311, a control pulse generating circuit 317, a delay circuit 316, latch circuits 313 and 314, and a liquid-crstal display device 318. |
