PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of crackings with a checked local overheating near the tip of a cross slot by arranging the cross slot of a rotor only in a low temperature cooling gas area. CONSTITUTION:A stator 8 is provided with a laminated core 9, a draft clearance 10 formed in the way of lamination and air partitions 12A-12D for rectifying a cooling gas on the air gap 11 side. On the other hand, a rotor has the circumference thereof facing the stator 8 through the air gap 11 while a magnetic pole 4 has cross slots 5A-5D formed facing each other between the air partitions 12A and 12B and between the air partitions 12C and 12D. The cooling gas is fed between the air partitions 12A and 12B and 12C and 12D in the air gap 11 through the draft clearance 10 from outside the stator 8 to cool the surface of the rotor and discharged through the draft clearance between the air partitions 12A and 12B. |
