PURPOSE:To enable the supply of a large excitation current with a higher cooling effect of a power lead by hollowing out it to double a guide path of a cooling liquid helium. CONSTITUTION:Power leads 5A and 5B are made so hollow as to be used for a liquid helium feed tube. During the operation, power is fed to a superconductive field winding 2 from collector rings 6A and 6B by way of the power leads 5A and 5B and simultaneously, a liquid helium 3 is supplied to a storage space 4 through J-shaped connector 17 from a liquid helium feed/drain device 8 passing through hollow sections of both the power leads 5A and 5B. This permits the power leads 5A and 5B to serve as the guide path of the liquid helium thereby simplifying the construction in a rotating shaft. In addition, the power leads are cooled direct by the liquid helium thereby enabling a larger excitation current with a higher cooling effect. |
