PURPOSE:To produce a composite contact strip material of superior contact characteristics and mechanical strength by flowing molten metal into a mold and inserting a strip material at the same time in the case of producing the composite contact strip material. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal 7 to be made into a contact layer is flowed into a mold 6; at the same time, a strip material 8 to be made into a backing material is inserted from one side. The molten metal 7 solidifies in the mold 6 and forms a composite material which is drawn with rolls 11. The resultant composite contact strip material 10 is further cold-rolled. Thereby, the control of thickness is made easy and since the molten metal is solidified successively in the mold, the production of pinholes is obviated, and the composite contact strip material of high joining strength is obtained. |
