PURPOSE:To eliminate the variation in the emitted light wavelength by driving a light emitting element with a pulse-shaped drive signal and the differentiated signal of the drive signal, thereby compensating the variation in the temperature of the junction of a semiconductor laser or a light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION:A drive signal amplified by an AMP1 for an rectangular pulse- shaped electric signal and a signal differentiated for the electric signal by a differentiating circuit DI are synthesized by an adder AD, the output of which is amplified by an amplifier AMP2, and is then applied to a semiconductor laser LD. The laser LD is formed in a structure having a dummy parts at both sides, the output of the adder AD is flowed to the dummy parts, thereby reducing the peak value at the junction and the variation in the temperature. |
