<p>A plant pot assembly has a plant-carrying pot (2) which sits in a water container (1). The pot (2) is divided by a partition (3) into an upper section (a) which carries plants and bedding material in use and a lower sector (b). In use the partition (3) is above the level (c) of water (12) in the container (1). Water reaches the roots (9) of the plants by capillary action in the pot (2). A screw cap (7) holds the pot (2) against a sealing ring (5) at the rim (6) of the container (1), sealing the container (1). The partition (3) has a grid structure allowing excess water in the upper section (a) to drain out. The assembly permits the roots of a plant to be kept moist without attention over a long period, without over-watering initially. It has particular application to the keeping of the miniature trees known as bonsai.</p> |
