INLET HEATING UNIT FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To improve the manufacture and assembly of the captioned unit and to upgrade heating efficiency by fixing a plate member and a cylindrical member which form an inlet heating unit to the spot face of a flat insulator. CONSTITUTION:A carburetter 1 and an inlet pipe 7 are connected to each other through insulators 12 and 13. The insulator 13 mounted on the side of a primary channel 2 is fixed by allowing an inlet heating unit A to hang inside an inlet pipe 7. The inlet heating unit A comprises a first metal plate 16 having a flat plate member 16a and a cylindrical member 16b and a second metal plate 17 having a flat plate member 17a and a cylindrical member 17b and a ceramic heater 21 which is inserted between both metal plates 16 and 17, having a positive temperature resistance characteristic as well as a specific curie point temperature. A spot face 14 is formed on the insulator 13. A horizontal plate 14a and a vertical plate 17c for the second plate 17 are positioned on this spot face 14, thereby firmly fixing both plates 16 and 17 inside the insulator 13.
