PURPOSE:To prevent break down of electrode wire with electric current machining and improve working speed by preparing intermittntly continuing jaggedness in the lengthwise direction of the electrode wire for wire cut current machining. CONSTITUTION:Lengthwise intermittently continuing jaggedness is formed on the surface of the wire electrode 1 which performs wirecut machining by way of electric current machining such as discharge machining or electrolytic machining, etc. The wire is formed with many projections 2, for example by electic plating, spark coating, flame spraying, or dent grooves 3 formed by cutter, etc. The wire can also be formed with jaggedness by winding a separate thin wire 4 around the core wire 1. By forming lengthwise intermittently continuing raggedness on the surface of the electrode 1, bubbles yielding in the machining gap become difficult to adhere, the dissipation effects of the generated heat is improved, and break out of the electrode wire is prevented. |
