A load transmission member, suitable for use as a vehicle suspension strut, is capable of withstanding both tensile and compressive loads and is of lighter weight than conventionally achievable. The member comprises a pair of end location elements for transmission of load to or from the member, a compression-resistant first load bearing component extending between the end elements, and a tension resistant second load bearing component of filamentary reinforced matrix material extending between and around the end elements. |
