<p>PURPOSE:To employ a flexible rack arrangement so as to aim at enhancing the efficiency of workpiece storage by providing a control means for instructing and controlling the projection of arm bars from the side faces of support columns. CONSTITUTION:Arm bars 2 adapted to be retracted into and extended from support columns 1 in a workpiece storage rack under instructions from a controller are attached to the side surfaces of the support columns 1, being opposed to each other. Further, during introduction and delivery of workpieces a stacker crane which may be stopped at an arbitrary height under instructions of the controller is used. When workpieces 3 alone are stored, it is sufficient to extend all arm bars under instructions of a controller. if workpieces having different dimensions, such as workpieces 4, 5 are stored, it is sufficient to retracts arm bars 2 at positions where the workpieces 4, 5 are stored, into the support columns 1.</p> |
