The appts. is used for the regeneration or training of muscles or groups of muscles of human patients. It enables a resistance to be placed against a movement carried out by a part of the body moved by a muscle or group of muscles. The appts. includes a tank like container which holds a viscous material and which has an opening to submerge at least that part of the body moved by the muscle or the group of muscles within that viscous mass. The appts. may be fitted with an adjustable heating element by which the viscosity may be adjusted.
