The sailboard harness holding line quick-release arrangement is based on having a hook on the harness engaging a line secured to the wishbone boom with both ends. One securing arrangement has the line held between two jaws on a metal plate fixed to the boom by clips. One jaw is pivot-mounted, continuing as a lever-arm lying along the boom when the jaws are closed, the other is fixed, adjustably to compensate for rope variations. When loaded, the jaws are kept closed by hand-pressure holding the arm against the boom unloaded, by an elastic band.
