Subsidence prone tunnel tube tubbing - has load-bearing filling between corrugated rings and sheath for use with driving shield

The tunnel tube tubbing consists of a series of rings, interconnected along the tunnel with watertight joints. The tube sections are of corrugated profile comprising undulating tubbings and, if appropriate, an expansion tubbing. The tubbing lining support is for tunnels in areas subject to subsidence. The undulating tubbing rings have a rear cylinder sheath, lying on the apexes for watertight overlap through the shield tail, for use in shield driving. Hollow rings formed between sheath and rings are packed with a load bearing filling. When corrugated tubbings are used, this makes it possible for tubbing supports to be built in directly in the course of shield driving, under the shield protection on the tail.
