<p>Doses of liqs. are added under fine control, esp. in adding liq. colourings to plastic materials for further processing (e.g. extruding). The equipment used has (1) a closely fitting revolving sleeve in the bore of a block with a stepped end piece fitting into the sleeve (2) a radial dosing hole in the sleeve. Vertical to its bore and sleeve, the block has one hole for liq. feed and another for compressed air; these holes lie at different points and are pref. diametrically opposite each other. The end piece has a radial hole to discharge the dose, its mouth faces the compressed air inlet hole; all holes (dosing, feed, air and discharge) lie in the same plane. Relatively low cost device enables very small quantities to be added accurately.</p> |
