Curable 1-component polyurethane composition

The curable 1-component polyurethane prepolymer composition has a continuous phase and a discontinuous phase which is uniformly distributed therein and contains a polyol curing agent of the pentaerythritol type. At moderately elevated temperatures, the polyol phase begins to undergo a curing reaction which has a single exothermic peak. The prepolymers are prepared from aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanates and polymeric polyols. The curable 1-component system has a long shelf life at room temperature and can be used in adhesives, coatings, sealants (seals and gaskets) and for similar purposes.
