PURPOSE:To increase the S/N and to obtain a wide signal dynamic range, by suppressing unnecessary oscillation without almost lowering transmission and reception sensitivity, through the provision of gel shape sound absorption body at one sound wave transmission and reception side of a piezoelectric oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Matching layers 2, 13 are provided at the side of a piezoelectric oscillator 11 in contact with a body to be inspected, and an acoustic lens 14 is provided as required. An absorbing body 15 is formed at an opposite side of the piezoelectric oscillator 11 through molding. As the sound absorption body 15, gel shape silicon rubber or epoxy resin is used. One end of the body 15 is supported with a fixed plate 16 having unevenness construction to scatter ultrasonic waves. |
