PURPOSE:To equalize a load of each staging back, by monitoring the number of times of access to each staging pack, and assigning a space to a staging pack whose number of times of access is few. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 accesses plural stage packs 2-1-2-n through a staging discontroller 3. A space of staging packs 2-1-2-n is assigned by a mass storage controller 4. Whenever the CPU1 requests an input or an output to a stage pack system, one of I/O counters 23-1-23-n is counted up. The mass storage controller 4 reads these counting values. In this way, the mass storage controller 4 always monitors the number of times of access of each staging pack 2-1-2-n, and assigns a space to a stage pack whose number of times of access is few. |
