PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To permit mass reproduction by a simple method without using a costly laser beam for reading by forming a diffraction grating on a substrate by a specific stamper, then raising the stamper of the resulted recording pattern and providing the diffraction grating to the fine pattern shape. CONSTITUTION:A photoresist is coated on the base material 2 and the diffraction grating is formed by the stamper 4 having several hundreds - several thousands lines per millimeter is formed on the photoresist layer 3 formed in such a manner. The photoresist layer is exposed by using the mask 5 recorded with the information to the fine pattern shape and thereafter, the photoresist is developed. The stamper of the resulted recording pattern is raised and the optical recording medium provided with the diffraction grating to the fine pattern shape is reproduced by such stamper 7. Selective formation of the diffraction grating part and smooth part is thereby permitted. Various diffraction gratings are formable if the groove state of the stamper is selected. The efficient mass reproduction of the optical recording medium is also possible.
