It transmits voice signals to skin nerve receptors. It comprises a transducer (15) for stimulating the said receptors, an amplifier (12) for controlling the transducer (15), and a microphone (10) supplying the voice signals to the amplifier (12). By using this apparatus, the internal reception structure of the ear is partially or completely bypassed, by providing another communication channel which can be used, for example, for aiding the deaf or for communicating when noises interfere with normal hearing. <IMAGE>
