PURPOSE:To prevent any corrosion of a grid which might be caused due to charge and discharge, and suppress the deterioration of the capacity of a pasted plate by packing a lead paste into a grid which undergoes electric oxidation carried out in an aqueous sulfate solution. CONSTITUTION:An expanded metal grid made of a lead-calcium alloy is immersed in an aqueous solution of a sulfate such as sodium sulfate or lithium sulfate, and is subjected to electrolytic oxidation carried out at a current density of 0.1-1.0A/dm<2> for 5-15min. Following that, the grid is packed with a lead paste so as to make a pasted plate. |
