PURPOSE:To prepare an antithrombin-like drug having high safety, preparable at a low cost, and effective to prevent the blood coagulation and thrombosis, by using a saponin component extracted from soybean as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective drug contains, as an active component, the saponin component of soybean or its principal constitutent soyasaponinI; chemical name, 3-0-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1 2)-beta-D-galactopyranosyl(1 2)-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-soya-sapogenol B. Applicable in the form of an oral durg, injection, topicum, etc. in combination with pharmaceutically permissible vehicle. The active component has higher antithrombic activity than heparin, and is effective for the prevention and remedy of thrombosis. Since the component is completely free of hemolytic activity, it can be administered by injection. |
