PURPOSE:To facilitate the measurement of inner diameters of various axially symmetrical small hollow parts by differentiation, absolute coding, binary coding or other processing of electrical signals into which the intensity of X-rays being transmitted is converted by an image processing system. CONSTITUTION:X-rays 2 from an X-ray generator section 1 are projected on material 3 to be measured and those transmitted 4 are received by a camera section 5 having an X-ray camera device. The output of the camera section 5 is input into a control section 6 to convert the intensity of the X-rays transmitted at points on the camera surface into electrical signals. The electrical signals from the control section 6 are binary coded with a binary coding circuit section 7 to calculate the inner diameter of the material by a logic com- putation section 7 and the results are indicated on a display 9. The binary coding circuit section 6 composed of a logarithmic amplification circuit, a differentiation circuit, an absolute coding circuit and a binary coding circuit. The logic computation section 7 prepares gate signals representing the position of the inner surface of the material 3 from the output of the binary coding circuit 6 and the inner diameter is determined from the interval between two gate signals. |
