摘要 PURPOSE:To expand the allowable range of a first-stage air ratio by placing noncombustible filler in the first-stage combustion chamber as of a two-stage combustion system which uses as fuel hydrocarbon gas and carbon monoxide. CONSTITUTION:In the combustion system in which hydrocarbon gas and carbon monoxide, as fuel gas F, are supplied via the fuel gas pipe 3 to the first-stage combustion chamber (primary combustion chamber) 1 into which the primary air AI is supplied via the primary air pipe 2 for the first-stage combustion, the primary combustion chamber 1 is filled with noncombustible fillers 4, such as, for example, 1cm-diameter coils made of 1mm-diameter iron wire which are cut into appropriate lengths, so that the primary combustion chamber 1 may have a porosity of 90 percent or more of its capacity, with its air ratio being set at 0.35 or more in the primary combustion chamber 1. This enables stable first-stage combustion as well as miniaturization of the primary combustion chamber 1, also allowing low-NOx combustion over wide-ranging primary air ratio.
