PURPOSE:To achieve the printing of characters without being patternized, by discriminating the difference of characteristics of dot arrangement given for characters and graphs, and separating the character signal part and the graph signal part in a video signal according to a discrimination signal. CONSTITUTION:When an output Y for black-and-white CRT is obtained from a character generator 4, the output Y is applied to a character detection circuit 15, and character information is discriminated from black-and-white video information Y. The character discrimination output channel obtained from the circuit 15 is applied to a profile forming circuit 17. The circuit 17 makes blanking processing for an output f of a patternized circuit 14 so that white parts can be made around characters. Further, a character signal channel and a patternized and blanking-processed graphic signal f' are transmitted from the circuit 17 to an OR gate 16, where the character signal channel and the signal f' are summed and the result is transmitted to a printer 7 as a print data D. |
