PURPOSE:To bring the end part of a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic head into contact with each other stably by applying a positive or negative voltage to an electromagnetic transducing material, and by changing the attitude of the magnetic head while holding the tip height of the head by the end part of the mgnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A rotary magnetic head 8a is stuck to the tip part 11 of an electromechanical transducing material 9a, and piezoelectric ceramic pieces 14a- 14h are equipped at the intermediate part of the transducing material 9a. When voltage having the different polarities are applied to the ceramic pieces 14a- 14h, the transducing material 9a is fixed up and down around notch parts 16a and 16b as inflection points and the head 8a changes in attitude while its tip height is held constant. For this purpose, when the head 8a scans the upper and lower ends of a magnetic recording medium, the attitude of the head 8a is changed to hold the contact surface of the recording medium at right angles at any time without reference to the deformation of the recording medium. |
