The device (14) is supplied from a current source (1) incorporated in the pistol and coupled to a charging circuit (10) with one or more solar cells (3) mounted on the body of the pistol. The solar cells (3) are pref. mounted on the front part of the stock and/or the barrel. Pref. the current source (11) comprises a battery which is easily removed from the pistol for replacement. The charging circuit (10) includes a resistor in series with a diode across the solar cell (3) or solar cell group for limiting the supplied charge. The current source (11) may be connected in series with a further diode (13). The current source (11) is maintained at its max. charge for ensuring correct operation of the firing device (14).
