<p>The ice skate grinding guide has two parallel cheeks with adjustable separation to guide a grinding wheel along the edge of the skate blade. The cheeks support an electrically driven grinding wheel which is moved along the skate edge giving a hollow ground edge. The two cheeks are placed over the skate (1) and adjusted to a light rubbing fit. The tapered grinding wheel (5) is fitted to the shaft (6) of an electric motor which is enclosed in a housing (7) fitted between the two guide cheeks. A thumb switch (9) connects the electric supply (8) to the motor. The grinder is moved along the skate edge, producing a cupped finish providing sharp edges at their side of the blade.</p> |
