<p>The gas flow controller comprises a butterfly valve in a cylindrical tube, closing against two semicircular plates (10,12) extending radially across the cylindrical tube (2). The plates have a flexible ring round their periphery to ensure sealing between the butterfly valve and the radial plates when the valve (4) is closed. The butterfly valve (4) is mounted on a spindle (6') running diametrically across the cylindrical tube (2). Two semicircular plates (10,12) have bent lugs (16,20), one (16) bent away from the valve and used to fix the plate to the inner wall of the tube and the other (20) bent towards the valve to retain the sealing ring (14) between the lug and the tube wall. The two halves divide along the valve spindle, and are offset and face opposite directions so the valve is perpendicular to the tube axis when fully closed. The valve is used to control air flow in a solar panel heating arrangement.</p> |
