Automatic two=part pedestrian control doors - uses two half doors with vertical support columns and electric actuation of linkage which operates door under automatic or remote control

The automatic doors are used to control the movement of pedestrians in a public place, retail shop, or similar location. The two halves of the door are mechanically linked so they can be operated by a single electric actuator. The use of an electric actuator facilitates automatic or remote control by pressure mats, optical sensors or similar methods. The halves of the door (6,7) are carried on vertical shafts (4,5) supported on pivots in vertical columns (2,3). The electric actuator (20) moves a linkage (9) fixed to the door shaft (5), opening or closing the door (7), while a mechanical linkage (13,14,12), passing underneath the foot plate (1) linking the two vertical columns, operates the second half of the door.
