1,136,458. Glass fibres. UNITED STATES GYPSUM CO. 2 June, 1966 [7 June, 1965], No. 24718/66. Heading C1M. Fibres of glass and like vitreous material are made by directing a stream of molten material 14 on to a multi-layer 11-13 of foraminous material within and in contact with the wall of a rotor 3, the wall being formed with apertures 6 through which the molten material is forced by centrifugal action. It is stated the layers 11-13 result in more even distribution of the molten material over the whole width of the perforated section. Wire screen and/or perforated metal plates with the same or differing hole spacings may be used for the layers 11-13.
|
