<p>The pruner is mounted on the end of a long handle and comprises a channel-shaped elongate support (4) on which is mounted a slidable, cantilevered support piece (2). The slide (39) on which the support is mounted has a pulley (43) attached to it over which a flexible line passes. The cutting element of the pruner is mounted on a U-shaped holder (3) and is an elongate bit with a set of rectilinear cutting edges (22,23).
