<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the operation of shift key, by inputting one character through sequential change of display characters while key depression and detaching key, when one key has a plurality of meanings in an input device. CONSTITUTION:Each key K of an input device 1 is a 4-stage shift key, and when the key K is depressed, an I/O controlling section 3 fetches the first character of the character group corresponding to the address of the position, it is displayed at a part of a character display 2 and a timer 5 is started. While the key K is depressed, the timer 5 is operated and interruption is given to the I/O controlling section 3, which fetches the next character from a character generator 4 and transmits it to the character display 2, and the first character is disappeared from the display device 2 and the second character is displayed. Thus, the characters are displayed one after another while the key K is depressed. When the operator finds out an intended character and stops depression of the key K, the input code corresponding to the character is picked up from an input code generation section 7 and it is transferred to a CPU8.</p> |
