<p>A torch for gas welding in a narrow deep edge preparation under a shielding gas atmosphere comprises a current collecting mouthpiece (1) with an electrode (2) and a nozzle for feeding the shielding gas to the welding zone, that nozzle being connected to a gas feeding pipe (4) and being provided with at least one row of horizontally located openings (5). The nozzle is shaped as a closed chamber (3) having the form of a symmetrical wedge, the sharp rim of which faces the electrode (2) and lies in the same plane with its axis. The side walls and the bottom of the chamber (3) are provided with at least one row of additional openings (6) the axes of which lie in one plane, which is oriented approximately at right angles to the walls (7) of the edge preparation. The torch is intended preferably for welding articles of a big thickness.</p> |
