PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image which is free from drop-out of thin lines and abnormal electric discharge by previously providing an org. solvent applying device for applying an org. solvent on an electrostatic recording body prior to formation of a latent image. CONSTITUTION:The org. solvent applying device 4 for applying the org. solvent 7 supplied to a color pan 6 directly to the electrostatic recording body 5 by an applicator roll 8 is provided in the position before a multi-stylus electrode 1. The org. solvent 7 is applied onto the surface of the dielectric layer of the recording body 5 just prior to the impression of the electrostatic charge for forming the latent image by the electrode 1 when electrostatic recording is executed. The imparted org. solvent, therefore, exists on the surface of the dielectric layer before the solvent evaporates so that the start of the discharge from the electrode 1 is smoothly triggered. Generation of the drop-out of the thin lines and the abnormal discharge is thereby obviated and the sharp image is obtd. even if electrostatic recording is executed by the multi-stylus electrode of about 400dots/inch. |
