PURPOSE:To obtain a lead-in part of easy connection and high relibility by such constitution wherein a pressure resistant space is provided to the end face plate of a pressure resistant casing of a submarine optical repeater, one end an optical fiber is connected to a connector provided airtightly therein and the other end is mounted airtighly in a pressure resistant pipe provided to the end face plate. CONSTITUTION:The sleeve 16 of a pressure resistant pipe 7 adhered 13 with an optical fiber 2 is fitted in the hole opened in the pressure resistant shell part of an end face plate 4, and is retained by means of a cap nut 12. The sleeve 16 and the pressure resistant shell part are maintained watertightly by means of an O-ring 10 and a backup ring 11. At this time, a pressure resistant cover 14 is beforehand removed and the operator puts his hand therein and does the work. To connect the optical fibers to the connector, the operator inserts cores 17, 18 into connecting sleeve 24, butts the end faces of the optical fiber strands adhered to the cores and tightens a retaining nut 21. The part between the core 18 and the optical fiber strand 19 and the part between the core 18 and the end face plate 4 are airtightly sealed by an adhesive 23. Thereby, the lead-in part of optical fibers of easy connection and high reliability is obtained. |
