PURPOSE:To obtain a medium which has improved dispersibility of magnetic powder by containing in a magnetic layer polyurethane resin or polyester resin which has sulfonic acid (its alkali metal salt) as a hydrophilic group and 200- 50,000 molecular weight per hydrophilic group. CONSTITUTION:Polyurethane resin or polyester resin which has >=1 hydrophilic group -SO3M (M: H, Li, Na, or K) and 200-50,000 molecular weight per hydrophilic group is contained as a binding agent in a magnetic layer to obtain a magnetic recording medium. Consequently, magnetic powder is dispersed uniformly to lessen its disconnection during use, thereby obtaining improving the durability of the magnetic recording medium while making characteristic hard to deteriorate. |
