The valve owes its suitability for the vacuum venting of a hydraulic brake system to the installation of a component (7), responding to pressure, which responds to a vacuum in order to open the valve automatically at the commencement of vacuum venting, following which air can be freely drained off. The component responding to pressure may be a differential piston (7), which functions in a bore (2) in a housing (1). A finger (17) limits a movement performed by a second valve body (12) together with the differential piston (7) when the latter is drawn out of the bore (2) owing to a vacuum acting on its end with a larger surface area, as a result of which a valve seat (13) on a first valve body (9) is moved away from the second valve body (12). In another embodiment, the finger (17) may be adjustable together with a piston or with a diaphragm, in order to raise the valve body (12) from the valve seat (13). <IMAGE>
