<p>A chipboard panel is joined to a laminated decorative press- board sheet, e.g. for use as worktops on kitchen furniture. At least around the edge zones, a PVAc white adhesive, epoxy resin adhesive or a hot setting system is applied. Before the pressboard sheet is bent around (in the case of a smoothly rounded edge), or a strip of it is applied (in case of a square edge), the adhesive is precondensed by heating it through radiation to 30-50 deg. C for 10 to 30 sec. Other suitable adhesives are polyester, phenolic, amino plastics or resorcin. This prevents water from penetrating and damaging a worktop.</p> |
