<p>The mechanism has a spring drive used to rotate an indexing shaft (48) carrying a toothed indexing wheel (44). This lies perpendicular and radially spaced to an armature shaft carrying an armature and the metronome pendulum, with the indexing wheel (44) acting on the armature plates positioned one behind the other along the armature shaft perpendicular to the plane of the indexing wheel (44), to deliver the drive pulses to the pendulum. An energy storage element (72), e.g. a spring blade, acts axially on the indexing shaft (48). Pref. the energy storage element (72) acts against the end of the pivot bearing pin (52) for the indexing shaft (48). The indexing shaft can be precisely positioned to allow accurate adjustment of the metronome timing.</p> |
