<p>Cooling towers, made of concrete and installed, e.g. in power stations, are exposed to a corrosive attack by weak acids contained in the vapours passing through the towers which can reduce the service life of a cooling tower considerably. The concrete is given a heat insulating coating pref. a 10-60 mm thick layer of polyurethane foam. This has excellent adhesion to concrete, heat insulation properties and resistance to chemical attack.</p> |
