<p>The sliding seat position is secured by the triple ratchet (20) with the teeth engaging a regularly slotted ratchet rail (25) and with the middle tooth (23) narrower than the slots. A parallel shear support rail (24) has wider slots spaced so that the outer flanges of the outer two teeth (21,22) grip the sides of the slots. The seat setting is secured without danger of vibration. Any excessive impact force on the mounting causes the respective tooth to deform and allows the middle tooth and the other end tooth to grip the shear support rail. The seat mounting provides strong support for seats with safety belts attached.</p> |
