摘要 <p>The disc brake has a calliper sliding at right angles to the disc and with linings on the two halves. An actuating shaft turning in one half has a socketed end with radial flange and spiral grooves acting via balls on a ring with mating grooves so as to move a thrust screw acting on one of the lined shoes in the axial direction. An adjusting ring coaxial to the screw turns the shaft when lining wear exceeds a set amount, and on release of the brake turns an adjusting nut engaging with the thrust screw. To prevent axial shaft movement (7), it is supported on the side of the flange (13) opposite to the grooves (10,12) in the axial direction via a thrust bearing (17) from the calliper (1). The grooved ring (13) slides in relation to the latter, but cannot turn, and bears against the tubular adjusting nut (14). The adjusting ring (29) turns on this nut, and has a groove (30) in which a radial pin (31), narrower than the groove, fits.</p>
