The fastening element for external heat-insulating panels has a large plastics pressure plate with a protruding, hollow plastics anchoring bolt, accommodating a metal pin with rear end accessible from outside. In the mounted state, the hollow space (20) in the element (B) is closed by a covering plate (11) locked onto the bolt (2) or pressure plate (1). Alternately the pressure plate and bolt may be separate components. The bolt may pass through a central hole (6) in the pressure plate, and have a flange (8), on which the pressure plate abuts compressively. The cover plate may be circular. The pin is thus protected from moisture.
