The container (1) for bulk material has a supporting frame (2) and a bottom outlet (3). It may be loaded on to a truck (8) in the horizontal position or unloaded and placed upright on the ground by swivel (12) arms (10) provided on the truck. The arms are releasably coupled (13) to points (5) on opposite sides of the container while a vertically movable (9) hook (7) at the rear of the truck engages an eye (6) or the like on the container. Each arm is coupled to the container via a rigid connecting rod (13) shorter than half the container width (14) whose ends are linked to the arm and the container respectively.
