The invention describes a process for producing an earth connection (4) between the ends of an electrically conductive element tube (2), which surrounds an insulated heating element (1) with power connection (3). Both the earth connection (4) and the power connection (3) are protected by a plastic plug. The earth connection (4) is equipped with a clip (5), which is attached at a point suitable for it around the ends of the element tube (2), after which the clip (5) and the ends of the element tube are inserted into a two-part injection mould. The tube ends are pressed against the clip (5) by the closure pressure of the mould, as a result of which an adequate earth connection between the ends of the tube (2) is achieved. After this, for moulding the plug, plastic is injected into the mould in a known way. Use is advantageously made of an injection mould which has openings for the tube ends and bends the jaws of the clip (5) around to such an extent that their lateral spacing is slightly less than the corresponding spacing of the openings in the mould. As a result, the clip jaws are put under pressure when the mould is closed. <IMAGE>
