PURPOSE:To enhance the color purity characteristic of a color image receiving tube during the time of local doming, while maintaining the color purity characteristic to be in normal condition, by varying the pitch of the holes of a mask surface according to the distance from the central horizontal axis by a given relation. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal arrangement pitches aO and aH of slot holes located at the central part and the peripheral part of a mask surface, a distance x of the mask surface from the central vertical axis, and a distance y of the mask surface from the central horizontal axis are adjusted so that they satisfy the relation of aH=aO(1+alpha1x<2>+alpha2x<4>)(1+beta1y<2>+beta2y<4>).
