The copy layer has a base construction which has inks and pigments which are activated by correcting fluids or other means so that existing copies can be altered to provide otherwise permanent copies. The layers are hydroxyl gp. polymers and the inks can be water activated. Binders and plasticisers and the inks are activated by discrete hydrogen ion treatment to either fade existing inks or to enhance others. Different colours can be supplied.
