PURPOSE:To enable the pitch width of the terminal part of the writing electrode of each row to be widened by installing character information storage parts at opposite sides of the odd number the even number of display rows alternately. CONSTITUTION:A display picture surface PDP is constituted of four character display rows ROW1-ROW4. In order to display, for examle, a character of 7X5 dot configuration, each of the rows ROW1-ROW4 consists of 7 shift channels. Information input parts W1 and W3 are provided at the right sides of the shift channels of the odd number display rows ROW1 and ROW3; information input parts W2 and W4, at the left sides of the shift channels of the even number display rows ROW2 and ROW4. |
